Kumu Hula Kapinaoʻkehaulani Gabriel (Kehau) started dancing hula at the age of five under the direction of Kumu Hula Linda Piʻilani Danek and has studied with different Kumu happily bringing her to where she currently dances with Halau Hula O Na Lei Mokihana in Honolulu. . She completed her 'uniki under her two teachers, Kumu Hula Keoni Martin and Kumu Hula Keoki Choy Foo.
Kehau received her BFA in Theater & Dance, graduating with honors from Chapman University and has enjoyed dancing and teaching along the way. She even won the 2005 NAACP Theater Award for Best Choreography. She is excited to share all the manaʻo she has and continues to learn to perpetuate and glorify this amazing culture that has given her so much. Aloha nō! |
